Revanth slam TRS Govt on farmers issue Hyderabad, Oct 15 (INN): Telangana TDP on Saturday demanded the state government to enhance compensation for the damaged crops and asked the government to waive off the crops loans at one go.
Speaking to media persons, TDP working president Revanth Reddy demanded the TRS government to increase the compensation for chilli crop to Rs. 40,000 per acre, Rs. 30,000 for maize/ corn, cotton and soya crops that was damaged due to incessant rains last month.
The TDP leader alleged that the TRS government has increased the borrowings and was pushing the state into financial crisis. Earlier government borrowed funds to the tune of Rs. 60,000 crore but the TRS government went onto borrow funds to as high as Rs 1,00,000 crore, he lamented.
Revanth Reddy blamed the state government for the spurious seed supply in the state and alleged that the government failed to tackle the issue. He slammed the government for neglecting the farmers and added that the government did not even give at least Rs 5,000 crore as crop loans to the farmers.
