Police should change people's perspective: Guv Hyderabad, Oct 16 (INN): Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan asked the Telangana Police to initiate people-friendly measures so as to change the perspective of common man about it.
Speaking after flagging off the 1st Indian Police Martyrs Memorial Run at the People's Plaza on Sunday, the Governor said people-friendly measures should be introduced at all levels.
The Telangana State police organised the first Indian Police Martyrs Memorial Run to remember the sacrifices made by the men and women of the police forces in the country. The Run categorises as 10K, 5K and 2K. Around 6,000 people took part in the Run. Speaking on occasion, the Governor appreciated the Telangana police for initiative that it took to bring people closure.
SVP National Police Academy Director Arunga Bahuguna said that such events should be held across the country.
Director General of Police Anurag Sharma said that for the first time in India, the Telangana State Police has organised the Indian Police Martyrs Memorial Run inculcating the first Indian Police Expo in association with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The Indian Police Expo is an integral part of the plan to engage citizens and build community engagement and positive public interface. The Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organizations exhibited their work and weaponry. The Expo was inaugurated by Home Minister a day ago but due to overwhelming response from the public, the Indian Police Expo has been extended till Monday said the DGP.
Almost all the IPS offices working in twin cities and from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh attended the Memorial Run.
