The Padayatra was formally launched by Prakash Ambedkar, grandson of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
The CPM leader lashed out at the ruling TRS government accusing him of the neglecting the welfare of the people. He said that the policies of the government were anti-poor and anti-marginalised sections. The CPM leader said that a vast majority of the population in the state was from the Backward Classes but the government was ignoring their welfare. How can KCR achieve Golden Telangana, if the issues concerning the Backward Classes are not solved? the CPM leader questioned.
