All set to provide nine hour power: Harish Rao Medak, Oct 18 (INN): Irrigation minister Harish Rao said that the State Government has taken up all measures to provide quality power supply to the farmers during the ensuing Rabi season.
The minister on Tuesday inaugurated a 33/11KV sub-station at Nangunoor mandal. Speaking on the occasion, He said that the State Government was making reforms in the power sector to address the challenges in power supply. He said that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was well aware of the challenges farmers face and is taking up various initiatives to solve issues concerning farm sector.
Harish Rao said that the government had spent Rs. 2,500 crore to develop power infrastructure last year and added that the government has reserved 10,000 MW power for the farm sector during Rabi season. The minister said that the power will provide nine hour power supply to the farmers at any cost. The minister also said that the government was spending Rs 25,000 crore on Kaleshwaram Project works and asserted that the state will benefit from the same in the days to come.
