SCR to observe Vigilance Awareness Week Hyderabad, Oct 29 (INN): The South Central Railway will observe Vigilance Awareness Week from 31st October to 5th November under the guidance of Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi.
This awareness week is observed to coincide with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Sardar Patel is credited with the setting up of administrative structure of Government of Inda post independence. The objective of the Vigilance Awareness Week is to bring about awareness amongst the public and government employees through participative and pro-active vigilance management, to bring down the menace of corruption to zero.
The theme for the current year's Vigilance Awareness Week observance is 'Public Participation in promoting Integrity and eradicating Corruption'.
The Vigilance wing of SCR will organize seminars and employee contact programmes during the week covering Zonal Headquarters, Divisions, three major Workshops and field units to create awareness against corruption/malpractices in general and on the current year's theme in particular.
The awareness week will commence on 31st October with employees of all units taking a pledge in the forenoon on eradication of corruption in all spheres of public life. The pledge will be administered SCR General Manager Ravindra Gupta, General Manager/SCR at the Zonal headquarters and by the respective heads at other offices.
A special programme has been organized on 31st October, afternoon in Rail Nilayam premises and will be attended Principal Heads of Departments, Senior Officers and Supervisors. Justice L Narasimha Reddy, former Chief Justice, Patna High Court will be the Chief Guest and will deliver the Key Note address. The SCR General Manager will preside over the function.
Programmes such as Quiz Contests, Skits, presentation of case studies are being organized throughout the week at Headquarters and Divisional offices. A special drive will be undertaken to generate public and staff awareness against corruption by launching campaign through posters and counselling by Vigilance Officials at important public and staff contact areas in the field.
