HC asks govt. not to demolish Secretariat Hyderabad, Nov 1 (INN): The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the state government not to go ahead with its plan of demolishing the secretariat building in Hyderabad.
Congress MLA T Jeevan Reddy and former MP Madhu Goud Yashki had filed a petition in the High Court stating that the state government was planning to demolish the Secretariat building to construct a new one and that the demolition would result in huge loss to the public money and hence the same should be stopped.
After hearing the arguments, the High Court directed the government to file its response in this regard within ten days and directed the government not to go ahead with its plan of demolishing the secretariat building. However, the counsel for the state government informed the High Court that at the government had not decided to demolish the existing secretariat building.
