Youth Congress rally foiled Hyderabad, Nov 4 (INN): Scores of Youth Congress activists on Friday protested against the detention of AICC Vice-President by Delhi Police when he tried to meet the family members of retired Subedar Ram Kishan Grewal who committed suicide protesting against the non-implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP).
The Youth Congress activists, led by their chief Anil Kumar Yadav, left Gandhi Bhavan to stage protest in front of BJP State office to register their protest against the Centre's high-handedness towards to opposition leaders. However, the large police posse stationed outside the Congress office thwarted the Youth Congress activists' march towards the BJP office and bundled them in to the police vans.
Speaking to the media, Anil Kumar Yadav came down heavily on the Centre and accused it of silencing the dissents through brute force. He accused the BJP of insulting the jawans by not implementing the OROP as promised. He demanded the Union Home Minister to tender apology to jawans as it failed to implement its poll promises. He said that on one hand the BJP was politicizing the surgical strike carried out by Army across LoC and it taking credit for the same and on the other, it is insulting the jawans by not implementing the OROP.
