SCR GM stresses on safety and punctuality Hyderabad, Nov 14 (INN): South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta held a review meeting with various Principal Heads of Departments and a video conference with Divisional Railway Managers of all the six Divisions on the Zone on Monday at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad.
Addressing the meeting, Ravindra Gupta stressed on the need to maintain efficiency and agility in issues concerning safety of rail operations on the Zone on a continuous basis. The General Manager sought that the elimination of unmanned railway level crossings should be one issue which is pursued as planned, so as to enhance safety standards on the Zone's network. He also held a word of advice to all the officials towards undertaking required corrective action wherever needed, to further enhance the punctuality record in terms of Mail/Express trains as well as MMTS services. Ravindra Gupta suggested strengthening of anti crash barriers at bridges, which will add to safety.
Elucidating on the mission Swachh Bharat, Digital India, Ravindra Gupta advised that the concept of 'Vermi Compost Plants' be explored for setting up at identified spots including the railway canteens, training centers etc, which will not just contribute to a green environ but will also lead to generation of organic manure for use. The General Manager focused on the need to carry forward the initiative towards generating more solar energy since the railway system provides immense scope for the same. He called upon all the Divisions to hold to targeted schedule in terms of developing Adarsh stations, as envisaged.
Senior officials including Additional General Manager A.K. Gupta were present at the review meet. Divisional Railway Managers of all the Divisions took part in the video conference.
