Demonetisation: Senior citizen dies in queue Hyderabad, Nov 15 (INN): The Union Government's demonetization scheme to ban Rs 500 and 1000 notes is taking a toll on the people with every passing day. On Tuesday, a 78 year-old man died while waiting in a queue to exchange the new currency notes in Secunderabad.
According to reports, Lakshminarayana, a retired employee collapsed while he was standing in the queue in front of the Andhra Bank in Marredpally. The bank security immediately rushed the victims to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The victim was a resident of Railway Colony in Secunderabad.
The RBI had directed the banks to make arrangements for senior citizens standing in queues at bank to exchange currency notes. However, the victim's kin alleged that there were no such arrangements.
