Constable damages ATMs in Vizag Visakhapatnam, Nov 19 (INN): Demonetisation of currency notes has severely hit all sections of society. People are losing patience by standing in queues to exchange old currency notes. Angered at not being able to withdraw money from the ATM after standing in queue for a long time, an irate police constable damaged a ATM kiosk at Paderu in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.
The incident occurred when the constable stood in queue at a State Bank ATM to withdraw cash. However, by the time his turn came, the machine has stopped dispensing cash which irked the constable. The constable hit the ATM machine and damaged it. He then visited another ATM where he faced similar situation and the cop resorted to same again, thus damaging two ATMs.
After the incident, the bank authorities lodge a complaint with the police and have handed over the CCTV footage to the authorities.
