CPI slams government for not sending drought report Hyderabad, Nov 20 (INN): CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy on Sunday said that it was unfortunate that the state government has not yet sent a report to the Centre on the drought condition in the state.
The Union Agriculture ministry says that the state government has not sent the report on the drought situation in the state and this shows how indifferent is the state government towards the farmers, the CPI leader told the media persons here.
The CPI leader slammed the state government saying that it did not disburse Rs 790 crore meant to compensate farmers for their crop loss. He said that the government was neglecting the farm sector and is instead using the funds meant to the farm sector to other works. He demanded the state government to send the drought report to the Centre and ensure that the farmers are provided relief at the earliest.
The CPI leader announced the name of party's district unit secretaries for the following districts. Mancheriyal- K Shanker; Asifabad Komrambheem- Satyanarayana; Adilabad- Prabhakar Reddy; Nirmal- MN Reddy; Siddipet- Pavan; Sangareddy- Jalaluddin; Medak- Rajireddy; Nalgonda- Narsimha Reddy; Yadadri- Sriramulu; Suryapet- Ganna Chandrasekhar.
