Govt empowering fishermen community: Talasani Hyderabad, Nov 21 (INN): Minister for Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Monday said that the State Government has taken up numerous measures to empower the fishermen community.
Speaking at a function to mark World Fisheries Day at the Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium, the minister said that the TRS government has provided a fund of Rs 101 crore for the welfare of the fishermen community. He said that the government took up distribution of 40 crore fish seeds to be released in over 4500 tanks across the state. The minister said that by doing so the government aims at increasing the income of the fishermen community and develop the fisheries sector. He said that the state government has also taken up various measures to enhance exports of fish products. He said that the storage capacity for fish products have been increased as part of the blue revolution initiatives of the state government.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Finance Etela Rajendar said that the KCR government is taking up numerous measures to empower various sections of the society. He said that it was fortunate that the state has got a good CM in KCR who is aware of the ground realities of the people of various sections and works for their welfare.
