Kavitha exhorts girl students to excel in sports Hyderabad, Nov 27 (INN): Stating that the TRS Government was committed for the welfare and empowerment of women, Nizamabad MP and TRS leader K Kavitha appealed the female sports persons to prove their mettle at various sports platforms.
Speaking at the third state level sports meet of girl students of TSWR Schools at Kistapur in Medchal district on Sunday, Kavitha said that numerous girls brought laurels to the state by excelling in their respective fields. She said that it was a matter of pride that Malawat Poorna from Telangana scaled Mt Everest at a tender age. She also cited the examples of Sania Mirza, PV Sindhu who brought laurels to the country at international sports forums. She said that the state government was promoting sports in schools and was giving priority to develop spots infrastructure from rural areas.
Minister Mahendar Reddy said that the state government was promoting sports among students and youth and was spending funds accordingly to provide better infrastructure.
