TD demands white paper on Metro Rail project Hyderabad, Nov 28 (INN): Telangana TDP on Monday demanded the State Government to release a White Paper on the construction of Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
Speaking to reporters at the party office here, TD politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said the metro rail project was delayed due to the KCR's opposition to the project's two routes, the Assembly and the Sultan Bazaar route. He said that the KCR government after coming to power allowed both the lines thus leading to huge rise in cost of the project. He said that the project which was scheduled to be completed before mid 2017 at the cost of Rs 14,132 crore had seen a steep rise of additional cost of Rs 3000 crore.
The TDP leader said that the KCR deliberately delayed the project leading to heavy burden on the state exchequer. He demanded the state government to bring out a white paper detailing the cost of the project and its inordinate delay.
