Distribute government land to landless Dalits: CPM Hyderabad, Dec 3 (INN): CPM leader Tammineni Veerabhadram on Saturday demanded the TRS government to immediately take up the land distribution scheme to Dalits as promised in the election manifesto.
In a letter addressed to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the CPM leader said that the lakhs of Dalit families in the state are still without land and reminded the CM about his promise to give 3 acre land parcel to landless Dalits in the state. He said that the state government should take up the scheme immediately and distribute the government lands available with it to the landless Dalits. Veerabhadram said that there were 3 lakh landless Dalit families in the state and the state government did not even give land to about one per cent of the deserving families.
Even after completion of half of its term, the KCR government has not fulfilled its major poll promise to Dalits, he said.
