Tribunal verdict will hit both States: AP Minister Vijayawada, Dec 4 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister D. Uma Maheshwar Rao said that the verdict of Brajesh Kumar Tribunal would affect both the Telugu States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Speaking to media persons after chairing the meeting of Cabinet Sub-Committee on distribution of Krishna River water at Gateway Hotel on Sunday, the minister said that the previous Congress regime headed by Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Rao failed to prevent construction of illegal irrigation projects by Karnataka and Maharashtra which consequently resulted in denial of deserved share in Krishna water by AP and Telangana. He said that the wrong policies of YSR Government have benefitted Karnataka and Maharashtra and now both the Telugu States were facing the consequences.
The minister said that the Cabinet Sub-Committee held a detailed review of the Brajesh Kumar Tribunal verdict and decided to find an amicable solution by holding talks with neighbouring States.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting was also attended by Ministers Paritala Sunitha and R. Kishore Babu and senior advocate of Supreme Court Ganguly.
