Cash prizes to promote 'cashless' transactions
Hyderabad, Dec 6 (INN): The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to give cash prizes every week to encourage cashless transactions in the corporation.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, GHMC Mayor B. Rammohan and Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy said that the corporation has decided to encourage cashless payments for Property Tax and Trade License fee. In order to encourage online payments, the GHMC is planning to give cash prizes every week in the month of December.
At present only 12% of the tax payers are making their payments through online mode and the GHMC has set a target of 70-80% online payments. The GHMC has sent SMS to 11 lakh tax payers asking them to shift to cashless transactions.
