Centre releases Rs 450 crore for TS districts
Hyderabad, Dec 20 (INN): The Central Government on Tuesday released Rs 450 crore under the special grants for backward districts as per the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act.
Nine backward districts (prior to reorganization of districts) will get Rs 50 crore each for the year 2015-16. The Centre has already released Rs 900 crore, informed the sources.
Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 entrusts the Central government to support the programmes for the development of backward areas in the successor states, including expansion of physical and social infrastructure.
