Naidu to hold meet on division today Hyderabad: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu would hold a crucial meeting with his party leaders of Telangana and Seemandhra regions on Monday to elicit their opinion on the party's stand on the bifurcation of the State following the Union Government's fresh decision to convene an all-party meeting on the contentious issue in November first week.
The Seemandhra leaders have been called to attend the meeting in the morning and the Telangana leaders were asked to make them available in the evening at Naidu's residence.
Party sources said that Naidu would announce his party's policy afresh on State bifurcation with the consent of the people of both the regions. He was not ready to withdraw his party's letter submitted to the Centre in support of Telangana, but he considered the issues raised by Seemandhra people against the division of State.
Sources said that while many senior leaders were insisting the party high command to stay away from the all party meeting, some of them felt that as a main opposition party, the TDP should spell out its stand on the bifurcation of State in the all-party meeting in view of changed political equations in the State after the YSR Congress party took u-turn on its support to Telangana and came out in support of united Andhra.
Naidu would also seek the opinion of his party leaders on whether the party respond to GoM ( Group of Ministers) on Telangana's request to all parties to send their objections on the bifurcation of state.
