Engineering students turn chain-snatchers Kurnool: Police apprehended three engineering students on the charges of snatching gold chains from the unsuspecting women in various areas in the city and seized ten tolas of gold ornaments and a motorcycle from them.
According to DSP Ramana Kumar, the engineering students who indulged in lavish life style started snatching gold chains from the lone women in the city.
The students 'Hakeem Sameer, Jaya Suryasimha Reddy and Sridhar Reddy were arrested and four gold chains, one mangalasutram and a motorcycle were recovered from them.
Four criminal cases already filed against them in the limits of two town, three town and Taluk police stations in the city. It may be recalled that 15
chain-snatching cases were registered in October and five cases were reported on October 26 alone.
