Four more victims of bus fire mishap identified Hyderabad, Nov 6 (INN): With the identification of four more victims, the authorities have so far ascertained the identity of 38 out of 42 people who were burnt alive in the tragic bus fire mishap in Mahabubnagar district on October 30.
The Andhra Pradesh State Forensic Science Laboratory (APSFSL) which collected the DNA samples of 84 relatives of the victims gave its first report on November 4 ascertaining the identity of 19 victims.
Another 15 victims were identified on Tuesday while four more victims have been identified as P Rajesh, Ajay Chowhan, Sonu Kumar and Vipin Kumar on Wednesday.
Of them, as many as 35 bodies including that of P Rajesh, who was identified on Wednesday, have been handed over to the relatives. The identity of four more victims is yet to be ascertained.
The DNA tests were necessitated as the bodies were charred beyond recognition. To avoid any future complications and prevent false claims, the DNA tests were performed.
Of four victims identified today, three hailed from Uttar Pradesh. Rajesh, a native of Rajahmundry, was employed with a private firm in Bangalore. The families of other three victims are likely to reach the city on Thursday to claim the bodies.
It may be mentioned that as many as 45 passengers were killed when the bus of Jabbar Travels coming from Bangalore to Hyderabad caught fire near Palem in the early hours of October 30. Of them, only three bodies were identified at the spot.
