Telangana State formation imminent, says TG Kurnool: Taking everyone by surprise, Minister for Minor Irrigation TG Venkatesh said here on Thursday that the formation of Telangana was imminent.
Addressing the meeting the minister said that the centre would not respond to the agitation launched by Seemandhra people. 'At least one lakh people would lay siege to the Delhi to get a pos itive response for stopping the division of the State,' he added.
He demanded the merger of Assembly constituencies of Gadwal, Allampur and Kollapur in Mahabubnagar districts abutting Krishna, Tungabhadra Rivers in Rayalaseema.
Brushing off the rumours of the resignation of the chief minister, the minister said that if at all the chief minister wanted to submit resignation he should do it after the Telangana Bill was defeated in the Assembly.
The division of the State was expedited after the statues of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi were vandalised in the State.
