'TDP coming to power is need of the hour' HYDERABAD: The TDP coming to power in the state has become the need of the hour, party president N Chandrababu Naidu has said. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the two-day brainstorming session, 'Medho Madhanam', with party leaders from Telangana region here on Tuesday.
'For the sake of Telugu people and the future of the state, TDP has to come to power. If there is a party which can do justice to people it is the TDP,' he said.
'I don't want power to rule the people, but to serve them and develop the state. I was chief minister for nine long years for which I am grateful to the people. The Congress has ruined the state in the last 10 years and I want my party to come to power to see that no further damage is done,' he said.
Questioning the Centre's move to go ahead with bifurcation without doing 'equal justice' to all the regions, Naidu alleged that TRS and YSR Congress colluded with the Congress to divide the state.
After noticing a strong anti-Congress wave building up in the country and in the state, the party, which is mired neck deep in corruption, has decided to split the state to gain politically.
Coming down heavily on the TRS he said it never fought for the cause of the people and always had its political and personal agenda behind every agitation in the last 13 years.
On Hyderabad, he said, 'If anyone has the right to talk about its development, its the TDP, which has placed it on the global map,' he claimed.
In his nearly one-hour-long closing remarks, he spoke of the need to formulate strategies to cash in on the anti-Congress wave and project the TDP as the only party capable of bailing out people from the prevailing crisis.
