Mopidevi with his followers joins YSRCP HYDERABAD: Former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao, who has been released on bail from jail recently, joined the YSRC on Friday along with scores of his followers at Lotus Pond office of the party. YSRC president YS Jaganmohan Reddy warmly welcomed Mopidevi and folowers into the party.
Laters, speaking to media persons Mopidevi alleges he was made a scapegoat in Congress game plan to defame Jaganmohan Reddy as he belong to backward caste. He vows to work towards making Jagan as chief minister of the state.
Vekataramana Rao, who belongs to the fishermen community, represents Repalle in Guntur district in the Assembly. He was arrested and sent to jail for his role as infrastructure minister in the allotment of land for the Vanpic project, to help YS Jagan Mohan Reddy amass wealth in the form of quid pro quo investments into his company by those who got the land.
The CBI court granted him bail on October 29. He was arrested on May 24 last year. In July, Rao's son Rajiv and his brother Harinath Babu joined the YSRC.
