APNGOs to decide next move on Nov 24 HYDERABAD: The AP Non-Gazetted Employees Union and other employee unions from Seemandhra will take a decision on their next move at a crucial meeting to be held here on November 24.
Addressing mediapersons at APNGO Bhavan here, APGNO president P Ashok Babu said the meeting would take stock of the situation and decide as to whether to go again on strike or not. ''If It is decided at the meeting to go on strike, we will serve strike notice to the state government on November 25,' he said.
'In case a draft bill on state's bifurcation is sent to the Assembly, employee unions opposing it will approach the court. A symposium on the group of ministers (GoM) will be held on November 16. The decision to divide the state is politically motivated and the method adopted is faulty,' he said.
He said the CPI had said it would oppose the move if the procedure followed was anti-constitutional while the Samajwadi Party said it was opposed to creation of smaller states.
Legal experts in Delhi said that without addressing the issue of Article 371 (D) it was not possible to move on the bifurcation issue. They also felt that there would be several obstacles in the path and the claim over Bhadrachalam division in Khammam district was just the beginning, Ashok Babu said.
To intensify the Samaikyandhra movement, employee unions and organisations would be holding Rytu Garjana at Eluru on Nov 17, followed by public meetings at Palakollu on Nov 19, Amalapuram on Nov 22, Kadapa (Nov 28), Madanapalle on December 2.
On reports of possible change of chief minister, he said the Seemandhra employees would continue to fight against division irrespective of the person in power.
