Jagan's Kolkata visit to protect stash: Devineni HYDERABAD: YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, on the pretext of garnering support for halting state bifurcation, was travelling across the country to cover up his illegal activities, alleged TDP senior leader Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao.
Speaking to reporters here, Devineni alleged that Jagan has the blessings of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and he was acting only according to her script, he said.
'As all the 16 suitcase companies named in the CBI chargesheets are in Kolkata, Jagan is visiting Kolkata on the pretext of meeting West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. All this game is to safeguard his illegal activities and black money, and the Congress is supporting him as the party needs his support to come to power at the Centre,' he alleged.
There are reports that Jagan will soon be allowed to travel abroad so that he can take care of his money routed through illegal channels during his father YSR Reddy's regime, he said.
Apart from CBI, the Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax department are also looking into Jagan's case, but till now no action has been initiated against him, he remarked.
On state bifurcation issue, Devineni said the Congress, YSR Congress and TRS have colluded and were playing games to win seats in the coming general elections.
