Don't oppose package to Seemandhra: DS Hyderabad: Former PCC president D Srinivas appealed to the T Congress leaders and other political party leaders not to oppose any concessions that would be given by the GoM to the Seemandhra region.
At a press conference, Srinivas said that the people from the residuary state need to be helped and to assuage their feelings, the centre might agree to give some concessions.
He said, no one should oppose the concessions to the Seemandhra people unless they drastically affect the interests of the Telangana region as the dream of over four crore people of Telangana to get a state of their own was going to become a reality soon. 'If you think well, you will get good results,' he said.
Srinivas said, the GoM was making sincere efforts to address the concerns of all the regions and once the recommendations were finalised, the Seemandhra people would be surprised to see the kind of great packages they would get.
Asked if the people of Telangana should accept even if centre decides to declare Hyderabad as UT, he said that would not happen. 'Such a question does not arise.'
The former PCC president said that the CWC resolution
would be implemented in letter and spirit and Telangana state with 10 districts and Hyderabad as capital would be announced.
He urged upon the leaders of all parties not to make any statement that could arouse passions. He called upon the people to ignore such statements.
Srinivas said the centre was also examining the proposal of Rayala Telangana as demanded by some leaders from Rayalaseema region.
He said the entire process of bifurcation would be completed within the stipulated time frame and the draft Bill would be sent to the state Assembly by first week of December.
