Jagan's Nimmakuru visit surprises TDP VIJAYAWADA: The unexpected visit of YSRC president YS Jaganmohan Reddy to Nimmakuru village, the birthplace of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder late NT Rama Rao, on Friday, has raised several eyebrows.
The YSRC chief's sudden visit not only surprised politicians in the region but also grabbed much media attention. Jaganmohan Reddy, who arrived in Krishna district to attend the funeral of party leader Kukkala Nageswara Rao at Kosuru village in Movva mandal, went to Nimmakuru village and called on Nandamuri Peda Venkateswara Rao, who is the cousin of late N T Rama Rao, and spent about 20 minutes there.
It is learnt that Jagan Mohan Reddy had invited Venkateswara Rao, a village elder, to join YSRC. But party leaders claimed that their partypresident had met Venkateswara Rao only to pay a courtesy visit to NTR's relative as he had extended his support to the 'Odarpu Yatra'.
Later, Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Kosuru village and consoled the bereaved family members of Kukkala Nageswara Rao.
