Ashok Babu threatens to intensify U-stir ANANTAPUR: Stating that the Centre cannot go ahead with bifurcation of the state without addressing various problems involved in the process, APNGOs state president P Ashok Babu threatened to launch a massive movement at any time for the cause of Samaikyandhra.
'Our protests, this time will be severe. We will disconnect all links of the state from the rest of the country,'' he warned. Ashok Babu said they would cut road and rail connectivity from the others states to the state, if the Centre goes ahead with bifurcation process.
Addressing the 'Save Andhra Pradesh' meeting here, he squarely blamed that the failure on part of the ruling party MPs and union ministers from Seemandhra had only led to the present situation.
'At a time, when Seemandhra people raising their voice against state bifurcation, the MPs and union ministers are expressing divergent views and demanding packages, which is shame on their part,' he said.
Ashok Babu observed that the situation might not have been so worse if the leaders tendered resignations to their posts and created political crisis immediately after central government's announcement in favour of state division.
Making it clear that they will not give up the fight until the process is stalled, he said that the Joint Action Committee meeting will be convened on December 2 and will announce the future course of action.
We will not hesitate to delink the state with other parts of the nation by staging rail rokos and other protests, he threatened. He said the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal verdict came as a shock to the state's farmers.
