State Cabinet Meet on December 3 HYDERABAD: The State Cabinet, which is witnessing a clear divide among its members along regional lines, is going to meet on December 3, on the day the Union Cabinet is expected to approve the report of the Group of Ministers (GoM), on the bifurcation of the state, along with the T-Bill.
As the State Cabinet is going to meet ahead of the special session of the State Assembly to discuss the T-Bill, which is expected to be convened any day after Dec 6, political circles are agog on the agenda of the meeting of the State Cabinet.
It is expected that the State Cabinet which is meeting after a gap of two months, might decide on the date to convene the winter session of the Assembly as it has to meet before December 20.
However, the State Cabinet meeting, slated for Dec 3, is likely to witness fireworks among ministers on either side of the divide.
Since the issue of proroguing the previous session of Assembly made chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy attract the wrath of his peers from Telangana, Kiran Reddy might have to receive a considerable heat from his T-colleagues during the Cabinet meeting.
The meeting might also witness verbal duel within the Seemandhra camp as there is a vertical split among the ministers from the region with chief minister's camp and party high command's loyalists group headed by PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana started publicly attacking each other.
Strengthening this argument, the ongoing war of words between these two camps took a new turn with law minister Erasu Pratap Reddy coming down heavily on Botcha for his remarks that disciplinary action would be initiated against those leaders, who are defying the party's T-decision.
Wondering at the statement of the PCC boss, Pratap Reddy questioned,'Not only the chief minister but PCC chief himself spoke in support of United Andhra defying the party's T-decision. How can Botcha initiate action against the party leaders who are critical of the party's T-decision? '
He also said if any action had to be taken against any Seemandhra leaders for their opposition to Centre's T-decision, then Botcha would be the first one to face the music.
However, Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy defended the remarks of the PCC chief, saying, 'Botcha's comments were not aimed at integrationists in the party. Those remarks were made at those leaders who are looking towards other parties in the run-up to the 2014 polls.'
