Seemandhra Cong leaders fumes over Botcha move
Hyderabad: While the political scene in Delhi is hotting-up and the state leaders are confused by the different signals that are emerging from the Centre in regard to the contents of the GoM report, which is in the process of being finetuned the Congress leaders in the State appear to be playing cat and mouse game.
Recently, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana had given a statement that he would soon initiate a disciplinary action against Congress leaders who have been criticising the high command in general and Sonia Gandhi in particular over the party decision to divide the State.
This invited sharp reactions from Minister for Law Erasu Pratap Reddy and Minister for Infrastructure Ganta Srinivasa Rao, following which Botcha's camp gave a media leak on Saturday morning that a list of 26 names had been sent to New Delhi.
This invited more criticism from leaders like Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, who said, 'It is inappropriate to initiate action against those leaders from Seemandhra, who are questioning the party's T-decision. If such action is taken, the entire Congress in Seemandhra will become empty within no time,' he said.
On the other hand, Ministers Kondru Murali and Anam Ramanarayana Reddy supporting Botcha's stand said that the PCC president was not opposed to those who were opposing the move to divide the State. The PCC president, they said, has been asked by the high command to take action against those who have been attacking AICC president Sonia Gandhi.
Later, Botcha in an informal chat with media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, denied the reports and said that he knows who have been speaking against the party high command and were indulging in acts of indiscipline. He said he was yet to prepare the list of such persons. 'Soon I will send the list to high command,' he added.
