Congress leaders rushes to Delhi HYDERABAD: A day ahead of the key Union Cabinet meeting, which will discuss exclusively the draft T-Bill and the report of the Group of Ministers (GoM), Congress leaders from both Telangana and Seemandhra are again leaving for Delhi with the hope of influencing the decision in their own favour on the Rayala Telangana proposal.
Following their failure to prevail upon Delhi bosses to make Hyderabad a Union Territory, some Seemandhra Congress leaders are trying get their high command to at least deliver Rayala Telangana state, as it will dilute the T-sentiment.
However, Telangana Congress leaders, who are averse to the Rayala Telangana proposal, have decided to make a representation to their party leadership that any deviation from the Congress Working Committee's decision would not be acceptable to them.
PCC former boss D Srinivas, who had played a key role in persuading his party high command to deliver T-state, left for Delhi on Sunday to make himself available to his party bosses to discuss last-minute changes, if any, in the T-bill.
Sources said Srinivas, who wants the T-state with 10 districts and Hyderabad as its permanent capital, would once again make a strong plea before his Delhi bosses during his stay in the national capital.
The former PCC boss also sought appointment with party supremo Sonia Gandhi to plead with her not to deliver tampered Telangana state, either by merging two districts of Rayalaseema with it or by placing curbs on the status of Hyderabad.
On the other hand, deputy chief minister C Damodara Rajanarasimha, who had returned to Hyderabad on Sunday morning after meeting Union ministers AK Antony and Jairam Ramesh on Saturday, has decided to go to Delhi again on Monday morning.
Some Seemandhra Congress leaders say their party high command wants to listen to the arguments of both sides on the Rayala Telangana proposal before taking a final decision.
