Hyderabad girl raped by two youths in Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old girl has been allegedly raped by two youths and molested by another at Mallikarjunapet under One Town Police Station limits here. The victim, a resident of Hyderabad, came to the city on Nov 28.

Following a complaint lodged by one Lalitha, a local woman, the police arrested two youths G Madhav (21) and K Subramanyam (22) on charges of rape and another person K Mahesh (22) for misbehaving with her at the Durga Ghat. Madhav and Mahesh are friends.

Madhav started sexually exploiting the girl ever since she was put up at Lalitha's house. He committed the offence when she was alone while Lalitha was away at work promising that he would marry her.

Observing that Madhav was sexually exploiting the girl when she was alone, Subramanyam, who lives in the vicinity of Lalitha's house, also took advantage of her situation and raped her two days ago.

When the victim told Lalitha that both Madhav and Subramanyam had raped her, she took her to the One Town police Sunday night.

According to One Town CI K Hanumantha Rao, the victim is a resident of Musheerabad, near Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. She had come to Kanaka Durga temple two months ago and developed 'intimacy' with Madhav, a local shopkeeper, and took his phone number.

Four days ago, she again came to the city and went to the Durga Temple to meet Madhav. She also said that she would live with Madhav as her parents were scolding her for her relationship with him.

Following this, Madhav took the girl to Lalitha, who is known to him, and requested her to provide shelter to the girl claiming that she was an orphan. When the victim told Lalitha about her plight, the latter took her to the One Town police Sunday night.

Shera Banu, additional circle inspector of One Town PS, said a case was registered against the accused under the Nirbhaya Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and other sections.

Police said that the accused would be produced in court soon. The victim's father is an autorikshaw driver in Hyderabad and she discontinued her studies after completing her ninth class in Hyderabad. The additional CI, who is investigating the case, said that the girl was sent to the Government General Hospital (GGH) for medical examination.
