CM again targets Centre on State's bifurcation
Guntur, Dec 7 (INN): Chief Minster N Kiran Kumar Reddy appears to be in no mood to change his stand on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Despite the fact that Union Cabinet has given its nod to Telangana Bill and the new State will be a reality soon, the Chief Minister targeted the Centre for its decision. Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating the Pulichintula Project here on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that the bifurcation would badly hurt the irrigation projects in the State. He asid while there would be several complications in sharing of water, the construction of new projects too would become difficult.
Citing the examples of Nagarjuna and Srisailam Projects, he said such projects were built when the State was united. Building such giants projects would be impossible for the both the States after the division. He claimed that more than 75 per cent of the people in Andhra Pradesh were against the division.
Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the inauguration of Pulichintula project during his regime was his good luck. But at the same time, the division of State during his rule was his bad luck, he said.
