Psycho stabs girl to death in Sec'bad Railway station Hyderabad: Secunderabad Railway Protection Force Inspector Ashwin Kumar said that Priyadarshini (6), daughter of Srinivas and Sonu, residents of Gangaputra Colony of Musheerabad was stabbed to death by Kola Kiran Kumar (21), hailing from Chittoor.
Police said Kiran, a mental wreck, had attacked the girl twice with a knife without any provocation on Platform No. 10, where the girl was standing next to her paternal grandmother Sattemma.
Her father Srinivas was away at the counter to purchase tickets at the time of the incident. Passengers on the platform who were alerted by the girl's loud cries found her bleeding with the attacker standing next to her.
When the grandmother tried to reach out to the girl, Kiran pulled the girl aside and pointed a knife at Sattemma, threatening to kill her. Police said that Kiran pushed aside the injured girl after seeing a policeman rush towards him and tried to escape.
However, the police constable pounced on Kiran and knocked him to the ground with the help of some passengers. The girl was immediately shifted to Gandhi hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Inspector Ashwin said that the girl was waiting for the Rajkot Express to leave for Sholapur, Maharashtra to attend a marriage along with her father Srinivas and grandmother.
Enquiries revealed that Kiran, a native of Chittoor, had been to Vijayawada a few days ago before coming to Secunderabad on Tuesday morning.
When media questioned Kiran to tell more about himself, he said, 'My name is Kiran Kumar and I am from Chittoor. Everyone at my place abandoned me saying that I was a HIV positive patient. Even my parents and other family members have disowned me. They hate me and have stopped talking to me.'
When asked why he stabbed the little girl, he remained silent. Inspector Ashwin said, 'We suspect that he is mentally unstable. We are verifying the CCTV footage at the railway station to gather evidence. We have seized two knives from the accused.'
