KCR warns of probe into Naidu's land deals

HYDERABAD: TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao said after the formation of the Telangana government, he would have an inquiry ordered into the lands that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, his wife and son had acquired in and around Hyderabad, directly or through benami deals.

Speaking to mediapersons at the Telangana Bhavan here, the TRS chief burst out at Naidu for saying that he had not done anything for Telanganga and that he always slept in his farm house.

KCR said: 'Entire nation knows what I have done for Telangana. In Telangana, every primary school student knows it. Why should you bother whether I sleep in farm house or not. I am from an agriculture family. I do agriculture. That is why I stay at farm house,' he said, adding that he had never done anything that hurt the interests of the people.'

KCR who was visibly hurt by Chandrababu Naidu saying that KCR had not done anything for Telangana and in fact it was he who had done a lot for all round economic development of the region when he was chief minister.

KCR said he was accepting the challenge of Chandrababu Naidu for a debate on who has done what and how much for the people of Telangana. 'I am ready for any debate,' he said. The TRS chief described Naidu as one having a 'terrible character' and that he was 'an embodiment of opportunism, deception and the tendency to stab anyone in the back.'

Recalling the visit of former US president Bill Clinton to Hyderbad in the past, he said Clinton had pricked the Naidu's balloon saying that 75 percent of the people had no access to safe drinking water.

He also jogged Nadiu's memory to the statement made by Switzerland finance minister that if anyone in his country made promises like Chandrababu Naidu was making, he would be put straight away in prison or in a mental asylum.

Chandrasekhara Rao said Naidu, when he was chief minister, had killed a number of Telangana youth in the guise of encounters and thus went into the annals of history as a blood-thirsty leader. If an attempt was made on the life of Naidu at Alipiri in Tirupati, it was because of this, he said.

He said Naidu had horse-mounted policemen trample down on Anganwadi teachers who were agitating at the Assembly and had the police shoot and kill those who were demanding withdrawal of hike in power tariff.

The TRS president recalled how he had relinquished the Central Cabinet berth for the sake of Telangana, while Chandrababu had 'stabbed' NTR in the back to wrest power in the state and became indirectly responsible for his death.
