All is not over on bifurcation, says Digvijaya HYDERABAD: AICC state affairs incharge Digvijaya Singh told the Seemandhra Congress leaders, who met him here on Thursday, that there was still chance for them to present their case on contentious issues such as Rayala Telangana and transfer of the adjacent villages of Bhadrachamlam division, which are likely to be submerged in Polavaram dam, to Seemandhra while dividing the state.
According to sources, when some Seemandhra Congress leaders such as Dokka Manikya Vara Prasada Rao and Kondru Murali Mohan called on him on Thursday here, the AICC point man told them, 'All is not over on the contentious issues.
If Assembly expresses its opinions on these issues during the debate, suitable amendments will be made to the final Bill while introducing it in Parliament'. He also suggested Murali Mohan, who hails from North Coastal Andhra, to seek for a special package for the backward areas in Seemandhra.
The AICC point man also told the Rayalaseema leaders that they could express their views on 'Rayala Telangana' during the debate on T-Bill in the Assembly.
According to sources, Digvijaya told all the Seemandhra leaders, who had called on him, that they should strongly defend the party decision on dividing the state on the floor of the House when T-Bill comes for debate.
'All of you clearly tell the people of the state from the floor of the House that the Congress Party had decided to bifurcate the state only after all the opposition parties had demanded the same in writing,' Singh said.
