TRS wants immediate debate on T bill Hyderabad : Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao on Sunday warned the Congress government against making any attempt to delay introduction of the draft of Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Bill, 2013 in the Assembly.
The bill is widely expected to be introduced in the House on Monday. Addressing a press conference, he said that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government should not take cover under the 40-day time frame given by President Pranab Mukherjee.
He said that the time was given only to allow the State to call the Assembly to meet if it was in a state of prorogue and said that since the Assembly was in session, the bill should be tabled straightaway.
Quoting the Assembly rules and procedures, the TRS supremo argued that there was no need even to hold the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting because the bill had been referred by the President.
The Speaker should suspend all the other business and table the bill first, he said. Otherwise, it would amount to disrespecting the President.KCR said that Article 3 of the stitution has given absolute powers to the President on matters of state urcation and Supreme Court had upheld them on several occasions in the past.
He said that the Parliament might be adjourned sine die next week due to Christmas vacation and might be summoned after the break for taking up the Telangana bill.
Coming down heavily on the Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu, KCR said that the opposition leader was 'blabbing like an insane person'. When asked about the challenge thrown by Naidu to a debate, the TRS president said, 'What will I have to do with an Andhra leader?'
Referring to the possible alliance between TDP and BJP, he said that TDP's move might be aimed at garnering Seemandhra votes. Stating that Article 371-D would not be a hurdle in the creation of Telangana State, he said clauses from A to K were inserted for different States.
