Naidu blames Speaker for T Bill fiasco HYDERABAD: Taking exception to the way the AP Reorganisation Draft Bill-2013 was introduced in the Assembly, leader of the opposition and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has blamed speaker Nadendla Manohar for the mess.
Speaking to reporters, Naidu accused the speaker of violating all norms. 'The bill was tabled abruptly without informing the leader of the opposition. What was the hurry? The speaker could have called the Business Advisory Committee meeting and discussed the matter with all floor leaders.'
Blaming deputy speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for starting discussion on the draft bill, Naidu said, ''Legislative affairs minister D Sridhar Babu asks the deputy speaker to take up discussion and he directs me to initiate discussion.
Is this the way an important bill like this is taken up? The legislative secretary too does not know whether the deputy speaker asked me to initiate the discussion or not and the government claims that the discussion began.' he said and alleged that the speaker was trying to drag him into the controversy. He said they did not decide yet on moving a no-confidence motion against the speaker.
It seemed the draft bill was introduced at the behest of the chief minister who, with speaker's support, was acting as per the direction of the Congress high command, Naidu said.
