Metro Rail to present vantage view of city Hyderabad: Travelling by Hyderabad Metro Rail will be a high-flying experience, literally. At several points in the city, the elevated metro rail corridors reach a height of 21 meters from the ground level.
This will give the passengers a panoramic view of the city and its iconic structures. The crossing of two metro corridors would also provide a picturesque view of the fly-overs.
According to a senior official in the Hyderabad Metro Rail, there would be three such places in the city where the corridors will inter cross. "The elevated HMR corridor reaches up to 21metres at several places presenting a picturesque view of city to passengers".
The metro corridor from Miyapur to LB Nagar and Nagole to Shilparamam would cross over at Ameerpet. The Jubilee Bus Station to Falaknuma and Miyapur to LB Nagar corridors would cross over at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS).
Similarly, the Jubilee Bus Station and Nagole Shilparamam corridor would cross over near Parade Grounds at Secunderabad. The official said that the maximum height the metro would pass through would be 20 to 21 meters from the ground level.
The height would be approximately equal to a five-storied building, thus giving the passengers virtually a high flying experience. There are eight railway crossings touching the three corridors of the Metro Rail.
The metro would pass through different heights in these routes. 'We have taken permission for constructing the rail crossings from the South Central Railway (SCR),' said a senior official.
The maximum height that the metro would cross through is at Chilkalguda crossing, which is 65 feet above the ground level and 26 feet from the railway track.
At Bharat Nagar crossing point, metro would pass over a height of 46 feet from the ground level. Similarly near the Lakdikapul, the height would be 35 feet, at Malakpet 58 feet, Alugaddabavi at 59 feet, at Olifanta Bridge 58 feet and at Bhoiguda side the height would be at 53 feet from the ground level.
The span would be ranging from 39.5 meters (at Begumpet) to 150 meters (at Bharatnagar). The metro would also cross over from flyovers at Hitec City, Punjagutta, Narayanguda cross roads, Nalgonda cross roads.
The metro corridor would run from beside the flyovers at different places like Tarnaka flyover, where it would be from left side, at Harihara Kalabhavan it would be from right side. The metro would pass from the right side at CTO, Airport, and Bharatnagar and from left side at Begumpet.
