CM huddles with Seemandhra leaders New Delhi: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday went into a huddle with the Seemandhra Congress leaders to discuss the strategy on the Telangana Bill in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.
Kiran Reddy, who did not meet Congress leaders, meet Congress leaders, remained in the Chief Minister's Cottage in the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan, where he received the Seemandhra leaders.
According to sources, the Seemandhra leaders discussed with the Chief Minis
ter about the Telangana Bill, which is presently pending before the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.
Discussions of the Seemandhra leaders centred around seeking clarifications from the Chief Minister on the strategy on how to go about it. The Seemandhra Congress leaders are mulling all opportunities available to them to obstruct and delay the Telangana Bill, so that it cannot be passed in Parliament.
The Chief Minister met Union Textiles Minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao and
Union Minister of State for Finance J D Seelam. Besides, he met Seemandhra Congress MPs Ananta Venkatram Reddy, L Rajagopal, V Arun Kumar and Sai Pratap.
The Seemandhra Congress MPs, who wrote a letter to Prime Minister firmities in the Telangana Bill, brought it to the notice of the Chief Minister. Most of the Seemandhra Congress leaders are confident that it is not at all that easy for the Centre to push through the Bill in the next session of Parliament.
Ananta Venkatram Reddy said he was not in favour of the No-Confidence Motion. said he was not in favour of the No-Confidence Motion.
Although he remained a great votary of keeping Andhra Pradesh united, he said, No-Confidence Motion was not an effective instrument to achieve that end.
The Chief Minister, who arrived here, led the all-party delegation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Brijesh Kumar Tribunal Award on Friday morning and later received the Best State Governance Award of India Today.
