Venkaiah slams Rahul's anti-corruption speech

Hyderabad, Dec 22 (INN): BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu said that the Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's speech at India Inc. reflects the speech of an opposition leader.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Venkaiah Naidu said that Rahul Gandhi forgot that he was the supremo of ruling party for the last 10 years and couldn't do any of those things which he was preaching now. His party has not only failed to do those things but did opposite to what he is talking about now. 'He says graft India bleeding. Who is responsible? Your family and party are at the helm of affairs,' he said.

'He also says without growth there cannot be poverty alleviation. Why this sudden realization now? He must answer why there was no growth in the last ten years? He says they didn't hit a six! In four states Forget about hitting a six, they were clean bowled and lost the series,' Venkaiah Naidu said.

Venkaiah also condemned Rahul Gandhi's criticism on media saying that good news about the government doesn't sell newspapers in Delhi. 'Where is the good news? Is he talking about scam after the scam involving lakhs of crores of rupees? Betrayal after betrayal on every promise they made? Or, on economic down turn, rupee devaluation, unemployment, scores of suicides by farmers or growing atrocities on women? Misusing the CBI for political ends or stalling Women Reservation Bill for ten years and Lokpal for three years? Stalling of six lane national highways, five lakh crore worth power projects or bringing all infrastructure projects to stand still?' he asked.

What is good news about this government which is not reported by media? It is the Congress party which has patronized corrupt, protected scamsters, misused constitutional institutions, failed to contain price rise, brought down India's image internationally, created deficit in every sphere of activity - fiscal revenue, trade, current account and trust and thus making the government suffer from policy paralysis resulting in negative growth.

The BJP leader said that the Congress government provided a red carpet welcome to Baba Ramdev by sending five ministers to airport to receive him and later called him a demon. The government appointed Shunglu Committee on CWG and then buried the report. The ruling party covered up Adarsh scamsters even after judicial commission's indictment of four of your chief ministers. 'Your party is soft on terrorism. Your party aligned and encouraged communal forces. Your party adopted negative politics and abusive propaganda,' he alleged.

Venkaiah Naidu said that any amount of facelifts and cosmetic changes to the Government and the Party at the last moment would not save the Congress from its imminent defeat as it has lost its credibility. 'The Congress leadership must understand that there is all-round hatred among the people against their party. Even allies of UPA are leaving them one after another. It is written on the wall; Congress will be out, there is no doubt. People feel Narendra Modi is the messiah and he is the hope of the nation,' he said.

The BJP leader said that Assembly elections held in four States recently have gone beyond caste and community. In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP had won 10 seats where Muslims are a dominating factor. Even in Rajasthan, BJP got maximum number of minority votes and won maximum seats dominated by minorities, he said.

'The hastily introduced Food Security Bill didn't bring them Political Security. The DBT, which they thought would get vote transfer, is leading to regime transfer. Aadhar could not get them janaadhar and instead had left them niraadhar. Reservations provided for Gujjar in Rajasthan didn't reserve votes for them. Similar fate is awaited on proposed Jat reservation. The proposed Communal Violence Bill will see voter's violence against the communal Congress,' Venkaiah Naidu said.
