YSRCP plans series of agitations from tomorrow HYDERABAD: The YSR Congress will launch a series of agitations with a bandh on January 3 to protest against the process initiated for dividing the state.
The agitations include bike rallies and relay hunger strikes across Seemandhra to press for reversal of Telangana process. The party would also insist on adopting a resolution in the Assembly that the state should remain united.
'The sanctity of the Assembly is at stake with Delhi dictating the proceedings and the state is taking up discussion on the division Bill. This is against the federal spirit,' party senior leader MV Mysoora Reddy said on Wednesday after a meeting of the political affairs committee.
'We are calling for a bandh on January 3 with all groups and organisations that are in favour of an integrated state followed by a motorcycle rally on Jan 4. On January 6 human chains will be formed and from January 7-10 party cadre will undertake relay hunger strikes,' Mysoora Reddy said.
'Depending on the Assembly proceedings, we will take our decisions to take forward the fight for a united state,' he said. Changing the portfolio of D Sridhar Babu from legislative affairs is purely the prerogative of the chief minister and that will in no way help to the united state stand, he said.
