HMR to accelerate demolition of properties Hyderabad, March 10 (INN): Telangana Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma conducted Special Task Force (STF) meeting on Tuesday and reviewed the progress of Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
HMR Managing Director NVS Reddy informed the Chief Secretary that after demolition of 27 properties, the total number of properties to be demolished for Metro Rail project has now come down to 254 (193 private and 61 GVM) and that this process would be accelerated as more and more private owners are now cooperating with the authorities in the implementation of the new Land Acquisition Act.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the construction plan of 3rd bridge connecting Rangmahal junction and Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station. Principal Secretary of MA&UD Department MG Gopal informed him that he inspected the location of the proposed third bridge along with MD, HMR and engineers of HMR and APSRTC. A detailed presentation was made in which encroachments in Musi were shown and CS instructed Revenue Department, Collector, Hyderabad, Commissioner, GHMC and MD, HMR to jointly launch a drive for removal of encroachments. He advised Irrigation Department to facilitate GHMC and HMR to construct 3rd bridge.
Rajiv Sharma advised that the acquisition of GVM properties should be simplified so as to expedite them faster. He reviewed the relocation of OH (33kv & 11KV) Electrical lines at Jubilee Hills check post, Peddamma temple, Madhapur, Madhuranagar, Khairatabad and Nampally. He advised TSSPDCL to take up the work on top priority to avoid inconvenience to the traffic and commuters.
While reviewing the housekeeping works done by L&T MHRL at various Metro Rail construction locations, CS advised that the restoration works should be done immediately after the construction to restore aesthetics and also to facilitate free flow of traffic.

Nirmala; Collector RR District Raghunandan Rao; CMD TSTransco Raghuma Reddy; CEO & MD of L&TMHRL VB Gadgil and other senior officials and engineers of all utility organizations of Government of Telangana, HMR and L&TMRHL have participated in the meeting.
