KG to PG free education from next year in TS Hyderabad, March 14 (INN): Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari on Saturday assured the Telangana Legislative Assembly that the State Government would implement the KG to PG free education scheme from next academic year.
Replying to a question raised by legislators P Ajay Kumar and others during Question Hour, the Deputy CM said that a concept paper on KG to PG free education was under preparation and the same would be later reviewed by experts. He said that the government would seek the opinion of common people and all political parties on the concept paper before giving it a final shape. He reiterated that the government was serious in implementing the scheme.
Speaking about EAMCET, he said that there were so many engineering colleges in the State that there was no need to conduct any entrance for the engineering aspirants. However, he said that the medicine students were being admissions on the basis of common entrance test.
The Deputy CM also said that the government was taking measures to rationalise the ratio of teachers and students to 1: 30 across the State. Further, he assured that the DSC qualified candidates would be recruited soon. He also warned the private education institutions of stern action if they fail to implement the Right to Education Act.
However, Congress MLA T Jeevan Reddy and BJP floor leader Dr Lakhman expressed doubts over the implementation of KG to PG free education scheme.
