Venkaiah Naidu visits Sri City Sri City, March 21 (INN): Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu visited Sri City on Saturday.
On his arrival at helipad, Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City gave a warm reception, along with Tirupati MP V. Varaprasad Rao, S.S. Rawat, Secretary, Industries, AP Government, A.K. Chowdhary, Development Commissioner and Sidharth Jain, Chittoor District Collector.
Venkaiah Naidu's itinerary at Sri City included launching of the 'Centre for Smart Cities' at IIIT and inaugurating the production works on metro coaches for kochi metro rail project at ALSTOM plant.
Naidu went round the industrial park and witnessed the brisk development. After touring the area, he said, "Sri City is making two strides today towards making a new India. One being the study on Smart Cities concept through the IIIT, and the other being 'make in India' initiative being home for more than 100 manufacturing industries from more than 26 countries."
Naidu had a meeting with media persons in which he briefed them on the concept of smart cities, its advantages and benefits.
