No plans to increase VAT on petrol: CMO Hyderabad, March 23 (INN): The office of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday dismissed the reports of State Government's plan to increase VAT rate on Petrol and Diesel.
'This is not true. In fact, VAT rate on Petrol and Diesel were increased in the month of January 2015 itself. The VAT rate on Petrol was increased from 31% to 35.2% and on Diesel from 22.25% to 27% at that time. Apart from this there is no proposal or decision to freshly increase the VAT rate as appeared in the press,' said a release from the CMO.
