Think out-of-the-box: AP CM
Hyderabad, April 1 (INN): In the Collectors' Conference held at Secretariat on Wednesday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu envisioned the government's idea to aim at double digit growth in all the districts of the state.
The Chief Minister called for brainstorming to reach the double digit growth. He has asked the collectors to identify 40-45 growth engines in order to boost the revenues of the districts.
Giving an example of how Singapore has emerged into world's best destination to do business, the Chief Minister directed collectors to work in this direction, set up benchmarks and work towards achieving targets.
In efforts to fasten the state's growth, the Chief Minister urged collectors to think out-of-the-box. To achieve this, he emphasized on the increased use of technology in real time. He mentioned that the innovation of technology must be made available to the lower strata. 'We can achieve 30-40% efficiency by introducing technology', the CM added.
The Chief Minister mentioned how the government is providing one the best pay scales in the country in spite of financial problems. He directed officials to ensure there is no corruption in the departments. He said that he will bring in reforms, if necessary. He has also mentioned that the government is ready to give further flexibility to yield better results.
The Chief Minister called the meeting to be a stepping-stone to synchronize and bring in accountability in all departments. He has called for an analysis of economic, health, social and regulatory indicators.
'If we work towards building an ecosystem, it will only carry us forward,' the Chief Minister said, while addressing collectors. He also mentioned that they will come up with short-term and long-term plans in efforts to make Andhra Pradesh a drought-free state.
He directed the district collectors to come up with a monthly action-plan and regularly follow up on the plan.
The collectors also briefed the Chief Minister on their proposed plan to achieve double growth.
Cabinet ministers, chief secretary, heads of departments and district collectors were present at the meeting.
