Nayani announces Rs 40 lakh ex-gratia Hyderabad, April 4 (INN): Home Minister Nayani Narasimha has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 40 lakh to the family of constable Nagaraj who was killed in an encounter with two militants in Nalgonda district on Saturday.
Speaking to media persons after visiting the Kamineni Hospital at LB Nagar, where policemen who were injured in shoot out, are admitted, the Home Minister said that besides payment of Rs 40 lakh ex-gratia, job would be given to one member of the constable's family. He also announced all assistance to the inspectors and sub-inspectors who were injured in the encounters. He praised the police personnel for the bravery displayed by them in fighting with the assailants.
However, the Home Minister claimed that the assailants Aslam Ayub and Zakeer were members of an inter-State gang of thieves and were not related to any terrorist organisation.
