APCC accuses Naidu of ignoring farmers Hyderabad, April 5 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Dr N Raghuveera Reddy has accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of ignoring the welfare of the farmers in the State.
Speaking to media persons after paying tributes to freedom fighter and social reformer Babu Jagjivan Ram on his 108th birth anniversary at Indira Bhavan on Sunday, Raghuveera Reddy alleged that the TDP Government has failed to fulfill the promise of giving Rs 10,000 per acre input subsidy to about 40 lakh farmers. He said that the State Government should have fulfilled the promise by spending Rs 1,346 crore. Similarly, dairy farmers have been denied the promised Rs 5 per litre milk bonus. He also demanded an all-party meeting to discuss the drought situation in the State. He alleged that Dalit farmers were the worst affected due to drought.
The APCC chief also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of using Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu to cause differences among two Telugu States of AP and Telangana. He also alleged that the Prime Minister, in connivance with Venkaiah Naidu and Chandrababu Naidu, was deliberately delaying the Polavaram project.
